Jucy Addition: Buffalo Tap in Savage, MN

August 27, 2007 – 10:53 am
Thanks to Nichole for passing along a tip from her venture South of the River: Buffalo Tap in Savage has Lucy's! PLUS, you can choose your cheese, American or Pepperjack! That is some fine reporting. Thanks, Nichole. It has been added to the map.

Jucy Additions: Wildfire Restaurants

August 25, 2007 – 8:07 am
Cariann reminded me that the Wildfire restaurant chain offers a Juicy Lucy. I was under the impression that this was only an occasional lunch special, so was leaning away from including it on the site, but verified that it is indeed a menu staple at this point. All Wildfire locations (Eden Prairie, Atlanta, and a bunch in Chicago) have been added to the map. Thanks Cariann.

Jucy Addition: Rudy’s Redeye Grill in Rosemount

August 24, 2007 – 1:07 pm
Thanks to Bill for pointing out that Rudy's Redeye Grill has a Rosemount location as well. It's now on the map.

Jucy Addition: 5-8 Tavern and Grill - Maplewood

August 23, 2007 – 11:50 am
etc pointed out that the 5-8 Club has a sister location in Maplewood that also serves their famous Juicy Lucy. It's now on the map! Aaron Landry checked the place out back in February, but went for a strange pizza pretzel thing rather than the Lucy. Now that's strange.

Jucy Addition: Rudy’s Redeye Grill in White Bear Lake

August 23, 2007 – 10:06 am
Thanks to Dan for bring this one to our attention: Rudy's Redeye Grill. I've added it to the map.

Tempers Flare over Jucy Lucy’s at MNSpeak

August 23, 2007 – 9:05 am
A simple mention of this site has set off a flame war on MNSpeak.com. Leigha Horton played the role of nay-sayer with this comment: Am I the only one in the Twin Cities who really really wanted to like the Juicy Lucys, but was always disappointed? Cheese makes EVERYTHING better - yet, when it comes out as runny molten grease (instead of the desired thickened cheesy goo) inside a hunk of meat, I'm just not impressed. Wham! There you have it: controversy. And then it was ON! From there, things degraded into territorial battles over which restaurant makes the best Jucy Lucy. Teucer tried to save it with this comment: Apparently, cheese-filled burgers is a hot-button issue and tempers are flaring. People, please! It's just lunch. However, it was too far gone. One could say that "the cheese was out of the burger" by that point.

Two Jucy Additions: NE Palace and Shamrocks

August 23, 2007 – 8:04 am
Thanks to Tuck and Kirk for contributing their Jucy Lucy knowledge by bringing the NE Palace and Shamrocks to my attention. Both have been added to the map. Gin & Phonics has some great tips on how to order a perfect Jucy Lucy at the NE Palace. And Shamrocks has a MySpace page you can friend if you're into that sort of thing.

Restaurant Map Released

August 22, 2007 – 5:43 pm
It's like this: Kirk emailed me and asked if there was a site with a map of Jucy Lucy locations. I said, "No, but that's a great idea." And just recently, Google added a new feature to the Maps that makes it both easy to create a custom map AND to embed it into a web site. Thus, the Jucy Lucy Restaurant Map was born.
